Hawaiian Islands

Hawaiian island weddings are known for natural beauty featuring volcanoes and waterfalls.

The “Aloha Spirit” will be all around and you and your guests will be immersed in this unforgettable experience, rich in culture. You can bring the local culture into your wedding by hosting a traditional luau reception learning the traditional Hula dance.

Hawaii is more of an Island (s) experience rather than a resort experience and each island offers  unique atmospheres, nightlife, secluded beaches, waterfalls, volcanoes and sharp cliffs.

Travel and wedding costs can be much higher in Hawaii as there are no all-inclusive resorts, wedding packages typically only include the ceremony costs (receptions, drinks, and food are separate), and when not traveling from the East Coast of the United States you and your guests can experience very long travel times (sometimes over 24 hour flight).

Since Hawaii is a part of the United States, same-sex and LGBT weddings are welcomed everywhere.

You can choose to get married in any if the Islands: Big Island (Hawaii) , Oahu, Molokai, Lanai, Maui or Kauai.

The Big Island is the largest in the chain and officially

named Hawaii. It has two of the most active volcanoes in

the world and is known for its rugged landscapes.

The beaches all offer violet coloured waters, but the

differences in the sand are what really makes them

stand out, from pristine white sand, black volcanic sand,

and even green sand. The Big Island does have an

international airport, or you can access it by connecting in

Honolulu.

Small surf towns offer beautiful coral reefs just offshore. From Honolulu to a bamboo rainforest is a 15 minutes drive only. Resorts are conveniently located near the Honolulu airport, and it’s highly recommended you rent a car in advance to explore the island.

Molokai offers a most tranquil and serene atmosphere for

your destination wedding. Be immersed in the natural

beauty of surrounding rainforests and hidden beach coves,

or perhaps visit the coral reefs.

No taller buildings than the palm trees on the beaches,

very limited resorts and no traffic lights on the island.

Most beaches are not safe for swimming. You can get to this

island by connecting in Honolulu or a boat ride from Maui.

Maui is popular for its world-famous beaches that

span for 30 miles, with the most coastline in

Hawaii, with lush rainforests, breathtaking waterfalls,

and magnificent soft, golden sand beaches.

Conde Nast has named Maui the best U.S. island

for over 20 years now. During the winter months, you

can see the Humpback Whales migrating. If you fly

into Honolulu, the best way to get to this island is by

commercial flight or taking a ferry.

In Oahu you can experience the best of both city and   country.

Downtown Honolulu offers contemporary high-rise resorts with breathtaking views and  it offers a variety of nightlife with bars, restaurants, and clubs all over the city.

The North Shore offers a more authentic feel. with the famous sunrises and sunsets from Waikiki Beach.

Here you will find the Aulani Disney Resort if you are looking for that extra magic on your wedding.

Lanai offers views of Molokai and Maui, and is known for remote beaches that attract green turtles. During whale season (from December through April), you can sometimes catch humpback whales pass by. You should be cautious when swimming, as the currents are strong, and there are coral reefs close to the shore.

Kauai is known as the “Garden Isle” and offers scenic drives where you can see everything from waterfalls and vibrant rainforests to dramatic cliffsides and tide-pool filled beaches. This is one of the least commercially developed islands in the Hawaii. In fact, 80% of Kauai is inaccessible by car. Much of the island is covered in lush rainforests, so there are many popular hiking destinations. You can take direct flights from some of the major airport hubs in the United States directly into Kauai, or you can take an inter-island flight from Honolulu to reach the island.

Another great option specially if you are looking for Island hoping is to choose a Hawaiian cruise  for your wedding as you can get married in any of the Islands, have a private party in another one or even get married at the cruise ship and having your honeymoon through the Islands.
